Vegetable Beef Soup

Cover beef and bone with water and simmer about 1½ hours or until done. Remove bone and add vegetables in order given. Cook until vegetables and rice are done, about 45 minutes.

1½ lbs. beef, in chunks
1 large can tomatoes
3 stalks celery, chopped
1/2 cabbage, cut up
1/2 c. rice
1 soup bone
1 large onion - chopped
6 or 8 carrots, sliced
5 potatoes, cut up
1/2 tsp. celery seed
1 tsp. sugar
salt and pepper to taste
