Recipe Onion Cheese Soup Amish Recipes

In a large saucepan sauté onions in butter. Stir in flour, salt and pepper until blended. Gradually add milk. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Stir in cheese until melted. Serve with crackers or seasoned salad croutons.

Serves 6 people.

1 large onion, chopped
3 T. butter
3 T. flour
1/2 t. salt
pepper to taste
4 c. milk
2 c. shredded cheese
