Recipe Hearty Ham Soup Amish Recipes

Cook carrots, potatoes, onions, and celery with chicken base, butter, and water until tender. Add milk and ham. Heat to boiling; thicken with clear jel. Remove from heat; add Velveeta cheese.

Yields 2 gal.

4 c. carrots, diced
3 c. potatoes, cubed
3 c. onions, diced
1 c. celery, diced
1/3 c. chicken base
1 c. butter or margarine
1 gal. milk
6 c. chopped ham or turkey ham
clear jel
2 lb. Velveeta cheese
