Recipe Cucumbers and Onions in Marinade Amish Cooking Salad Recipes

Wash the cucumbers and slice about 1/4" thick. Slice the onions the same thickness. Place in a large bowl and sprinkle herbs on top. In a small bow., blend the remaining ingredients with a wire whisk until all the sugar is dissolved. Pour over cucumbers and onions. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for several hours.

Serves 6

6 large cucumbers
2 med. onions
2 T. each chopped dill, chives, oregano, parsley, and thyme
1/2 c. salad oil
1/2 c. wine vinegar
1/4 c. white wine
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1/2 t. salt
1/2 t. celery seed
