Spanish Rice

Chop onions and pepper and cook in fat until brown. Add hamburger, salt, pepper and chili powder. When meat is slightly brown, place layers of cooked rice and meat mixture in a casserole. Pour tomatoes over contents of dish and bake at 375° F. oven for about 50 minutes

1 lb. hamburger
4 c. cooked rice
2 small onions
1 c. tomatoes
1 green pepper
2 Tbsp. shortening
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. chili powder
