Raisin-Filled Cookies
Cream
together shortening and sugar; add eggs and vanilla. Sift dry
ingredients. Alternately add dry mixture and milk. Add enough flour to
roll nicely. Grind raisins. Add remaining filling ingredients and bring
to a boil. Roll out dough; cut into circles. Cut holes in circles used
for tops. Put a teaspoon of filling on a circle; top with another
circle. Pinch edges to seal. Bake at 350° F. for 10-12 minutes or until
brown.

2 t. soda
4 t. cream of tartar
1/2 t. salt
1 t. vanilla

1½ c. water
