Harvest Time Crumb Cake

Cube enough apples for about 6 cups or more, if desired. Toss in a bit of sugar and lemon juice. Proceed with batter as for any cake, using the next eight ingredients. Grease a baking dish and spread batter in pan and top with apples. Sprinkle crumbs on top and bake at 350° F. for 45 minutes.

6 apples, cubed
3 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1½ cups sugar
1½ cups milk
4 tsp. baking powder
2/3 cup butter
3 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
a few drops of lemon juice
Crumbs:
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1½ cups flour
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
