Red Beets Recipe Amish Canning Recipes

Cook and peel beets. Cut into 1" pieces. Put in jars. Put all syrup ingredients in saucepan and bring to a boil. Pour over beets. Cold pack 1/2 hour. This makes enough syrup for 4 quarts beets.

1 cup vinegar
1 qt. sugar
1 qt. beet water
1 tsp. whole cloves
2 sticks cinnamon
1 Tbsp. salt
