Recipe Yeast Rolls Amish Cooking Food Recipes

Combine yeast, warm water, and 1 t. sugar. Mix with milk, 3 T. sugar, salt, and shortening, then cool to lukewarm. Add egg to the mixture and as much flour as needed. Let rise 1 hour. Punch down. Let rise until double. Bake at 350° F.

1 pkg. dry yeast
1/4 c. lukewarm water
1 t. sugar
1 c. scalded milk
1 egg, well beaten
3 T. sugar
1½ t. salt
4 T. shortening, melted
3½ c. bread flour
