Molly's Bread
Pour boiling
water over oatmeal, salt, and honey. Let cool for about 20-30 minutes,
till just warm. Mix warm water, yeast and sugar and let stand till foamy.
Add eggs to oatmeal mixture; now add yeast mixture. Stir; add wheat flour.
Then add more white or brown flour. Bake at 425° for 5 minutes, then at
350° till done. Makes 3-4 loaves. |
2 cups oatmeal
1-2 Tbsp. salt
1/2-1 cup honey (or sugar)
3½ cups boiling water
4 eggs
1½ cups warm water
2 Tbsp. yeast
2 Tbsp. sugar
3-4 cups wheat flour
