Cream Sticks
Dissolve
yeast in warm water. Cream shortening, sugar, eggs, and salt. Add yeast
mixture and milk. Add flour to form a soft dough. Let rise in a warm
place until double. Roll our and cut into strips. When raised, deep fat
fry. Cool. For cream filling, mix flour and milk. Bring to a boil,
stirring constantly. Cool completely. Cream together Crisco, sugar, and
vanilla. Mix with milk mixture. Add powdered sugar. Fill cream sticks.
Make brown sugar icing to cover them.

2 pkg. dry yeast
1 c. lukewarm water
1/2 c. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 t. salt
6 c. flour
Cream Filling:
3 t. flour
1 c. milk
1 c. Crisco
1 c. sugar
1 T. vanilla
2½ c, powdered sugar
