Old Fashioned Lemonade
Squeeze
4 of the lemons and reserve the juice. Slice the remaining lemons
1/4" thick. Using a wooden mallet or old-fashioned potato masher,
press the sliced lemons into 1/3 cup of the sugar, in the container in
which the lemonade is to be served. Allow the slices to stand in the
sugar for 15 minutes. Add the water, the lemon juice, and the remaining
sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved. Add the ice cubes and grate
nutmeg over the top. Garnish with sprigs of fresh mint.
