| Mix dry
ingredients together. Cut in shortening. Add beaten egg to milk. Add
liquid to dry ingredients and mix with fork until dough holds together.
Knead lightly. Roll to 1 thick and cut. Use only enough flour to handle
dough easily. Bake at 450° F. for 12 minutes or until brown.
Yields 24 biscuits.
3 c. sifted flour
3/4 t. cream of tartar
3/4 t. salt
1 egg, lightly beaten
4½ t. baking powder
2½ T. sugar
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. milk
