Mulled Cider
Combine sugar and 2 cups of the cider in a
large kettle and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Add the orange and
lemon slices and bring to a boil. Simmer approximately 6 minutes until
the rinds are clear. Add the remaining 4 cups of cider and the wine and
heat but do not boil. Pour into a serving bowl. If using crystal punch
bowl, do not pour all in at one time, but pour gradually over a metal
spoon or ladle to absorb the heat. This will prevent cracking the bowl.
Serve with cinnamon sticks for stirrers.
